Dear Friends

For the past six years I have been an independent voice in the California Assembly. I am proud to have a record of standing up for the people of my district, even when it means speaking out against my own party.
From working to open the Central Valley’s first University of California at Merced to authoring AB 3034 which placed Proposition 1A, the California High-Speed Train Bond Act of 2008 on the ballot, I have dedicated my entire career to improving the lives of San Joaquin Valley families.
In 2012, we have an opportunity stand for working families, affordable education, accessible healthcare, protecting our environment, and building a stronger economy.
I hope you will join leaders in education, law enforcement, environment, labor, healthcare, and small business in joining my campaign to get California moving again! The road ahead will be challenging, but I know that our shared values and vision for improving our region will strengthen us come November.
Thank you for your support!
