Professional Organization Unanimously Backs Galgiani

Stockton, CA – The Professional Engineers in California Government (PECG) have announced their endorsement of Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani in her race for Senate District 5. The organization announced their selection following a unanimous board decision based on Galgiani’s “demonstrated commitment to public servants.”

“I am pleased to have the support of the Professional Engineers in California Government,” said Galgiani. “These public servants do so much to protect our infrastructure and communities. I salute their hard work and am grateful for their endorsement.”

PECG represents 13,000 state-employed engineers and related professional responsible for designing and inspecting California’s highways and bridges, ensuring that schools and hospitals are safe during earthquakes, and protecting our air, water and beaches from pollution.

Assemblywoman Galgiani was elected to the State Assembly in 2006 and has worked to facilitate the fast-moving development of the nation’s first High-Speed Rail project, which will create thousands of new jobs, and put California’s economy on a fast track to recovery. California League of Conservation Voters Endorses Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani for Senate District 5

Endorsement Highlights Galgiani’s Commitment to Smart Policies that Protect
Local Businesses, Jobs and the Environment

Stockton, CA – The California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV) has announced their endorsement of Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani in her race for Senate District 5. The endorsement by CLCV is a testament to Assemblywoman Galgiani’s track record of supporting smart environmental policies that also bolster the local economy and protect jobs.

“I am honored to have the support of the California League of Conservation Voters,” said Galgiani. “The rich farmland and critical water supply that are defining aspects of the San Joaquin Valley are more than just our economic lifeblood; they are natural treasures that we must actively seek to preserve. Working to adopt smart environmental policies that weigh the needs of our natural resources with the need to create jobs and protect our local economy is a top priority of mine.”

Assemblywoman Galgiani received an 82% score in CLCV’s recently released 2011 Environmental Scorecard. Galgiani has made preservation issues a priority throughout her career in public service. In 2008, she co-authored SB 59 (The Reliable Water Supply Bond Act of 2008) to help protect the San Joaquin Delta, which supplies more than 25 million people with water. Galgiani has also been touted for her ability to effectively support the needs of farmers and businesses in her district while remaining environmentally responsible.
